Case Study SoHo Grand Hotel
SoHo, an acronym for SOuth of HOuston Street-the trendy district bordered by Houston Street on its north, Canal Street on its south, Broadway on the east, and the Hudson River on the west-means glamour, youth, luxury, shopping, and enterprise. In the1990s, the neighborhood became a glamour capital, for chic stores, restaurants, spas, art galleries, and boutiques. Project Details: Complete Digital CCTV System including4 Digital Video Recorders with capacity of84 cameras and 2.5 Terabytes of Storage. All DVRs are housed in the IT server farm as part of standard IT infrastructure.
The first projectinvolved a wiring and installingtwo 32 ChannelHigh Definition Digital Recorders in the main Nursing home with 58 cameras including four Pan-Tilt Zoom Cameras, and 54 High Resolution Color Cameras. The second phase involved a 4 channel digital CCTV system at a remote outreachfacility that is monitored by the main nursing facility. The 3rd project involved the installation of a 16 channel DVR, 6 High Resolution Cameras, a four door access control system, video intercom system and a burglar alarm for their new community center.

How do you secure staff and students and leverage the solution to track attendance at the same time without slowing down the traffic of a vibrant school?
the solution
Install a complete Digital CCTV System includinga 32 Channel Digital Video Recorderwith 1.5 terabytes of storage to monitor all entrances and congregation points. Control school entry with a24-door access control system that is customized to provide attendance reporting for all staff and upper school students.
The project included installation of 20cameras including three Pan-Tilt Zoom cameras, a camera with an electroniczoom lens,15 high resolution color cameras and 4 Internet protocol (IP) based cameras in areas of the building where it would be too costly and difficult to install analog camera wiring. POM also installed an access control system with 20 card readers that are used for access control as well as attendance tracking for upper schools. POM created a customized report that allows Collegiate to track student attendance during a fire drill or emergency condition. POMcontinues to work with collegiate to design additional ways to use these technologies to increase site safety.
